something new

I did something I’ve never done last night.

(No, I did NOT wear my underwear on the outside of my pants. But CLOSE.)

I went to my very first blog-event last night. Like, an actual event with other bloggers. Bloggers of all different walks of life. Different blog lives.

I’ve met some absolutely amazing people through blogging. I might even stalk them when they come to my home town. I’ve become close with people I haven’t even met but feel like I’ve known forever. But last night? Last night was the first time I’ve ever been to an event AS A BLOGGER. It felt very odd. It felt very awesome.

The past couple of weeks I’ve been thinking about what I want out of blogging. Imagine my surprise that as we broke into smaller groups, this was a question that was discussed. I’m still not sure I have my answer. But I’m a whole lot closer.

Writing this post helped open the flood gates. I love blogging. I love telling stories. I love having this outlet to tell those stories. I shouldn’t stop just because I’m nervous what people will think. Last night, mingling with other bloggers, I was reminded why I even do this. And for right now, THAT is what I want out of blogging: a place to tell my story.

So thank you, Sac Bloggers. Thank you for reminding me why I do this.
